Celebrate National Children’s Dental Health month at the Library! Shelley Johnston from Dr. David Starkman’s office in Valatie will be here to show the kids the importance of taking care of their teeth. Shelley will also be available to answer any ques- tions parents might have. Kids will get a chance to practice brushing teeth as well as participate in stories, songs and a craft!
Teens will get the opportunity to use henna to create temporary designs on the skin. Henna, a plant-based product made from henna tree leaves, is used by many cultures around the world as a form of artistic expression. Henna is not permanent, but it does temporarily stain the skin. Henna will wash or fade from the skin in one to three weeks. This program is free and designed for ages 13 and up.
Come with us on a journey to the past as we learn how slaves communicated and shared secret messages about the Underground Railroad. We will read Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt and learn how to create a freedom quilt block of our own. The event is free and geared for children in Grades 2-5. Space is limited, please call the library to sign up for this terrific event!
