Our Mission
The Friends of the Kinderhook Memorial Library recognizes the importance of the library to the intellectual, cultural, social and political life of the community. The Friends exists to provide volunteer, non-profit support of the mission and services of the library.

The Friends Annual Fall Book Sale will be held Oktoberfest Weekend! Browse the selection of carefully sorted books on Saturday, October 1 from 9 am to 1 pm. Due to pending road construction on Hudson Street, the Yard Sale portion of the fall sale has been cancelled for this year. Entrance to the sale will be at the Sylvester Street gate.
The Garden Club of Kinderhook and Friends of the Kinderhook Memorial Library will hold a hands-on floral design class at the library just in time for the Garden Club's Fall Door Decorating Contest. Garden Club members will instruct how to make a fall-themed hanging floral design for a door. The class is free and open to the public but registration is required and limited to 20.
Tobias Seamon, author of The Magician’s Study, will be reading from and discussing his new book, The Emperor’s Toy Chest, at the Kinderhook Memorial Library on Saturday, June 25 at 4 p.m. The reading is sponsored by Blackwood and Brouwer Booksellers in Kinderhook and the Friends of the Kinderhook Memorial Library. The reading is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
The second Across the Digital Divide program will feature employment resources on the web. Many traditional print services are moving online and it has made job seeking that much more daunting to a lot of people.
The Book Sale continues on Sunday, June 12 from 11am to 2pm. Buck-a-Bag deals to be had!
Join the Friends of the Library at their Annual Spring Fling Book Sale. Find great bargains on high quality, carefully selected and organized books for all ages and interests.
