The Friends Annual Fall Book Sale will be held Oktoberfest Weekend! Browse the selection of carefully sorted books on Saturday, October 1 from 9 am to 1 pm. Due to pending road construction on Hudson Street, the Yard Sale portion of the fall sale has been cancelled for this year. Entrance to the sale will be at the Sylvester Street gate.

Door Decorating with the Kinderhook Garden Club

The Garden Club of Kinderhook and Friends of the Kinderhook Memorial Library will hold a hands-on floral design class at the library just in time for the Garden Club's Fall Door Decorating Contest. Garden Club members will instruct how to make a fall-themed hanging floral design for a door. The class is free and open to the public but registration is required and limited to 20.

Author Reading and Discussion with Tobias Seamon

Tobias SeamonTobias Seamon, author of The Magician’s Study, will be reading from and discussing his new book, The Emperor’s Toy Chest, at the Kinderhook Memorial Library on Saturday, June 25 at 4 p.m.  The reading is sponsored by Blackwood and Brouwer Booksellers in Kinderhook and the Friends of the Kinderhook Memorial Library.  The reading is free and open to the public.  Refreshments will be served.

Special guest autor Lauren Belfer (City of Light) will speak about her latest book, A Fierce Radiance, which is at once a thriller, a love story, a family saga, and a window into American history, evoking the pure essence of war-time New York.  It portrays the tumultuous early days of World War II, when many feared that America would lose the war, when even children were  caught up in the sacrifices demanded by the nation's mobilization, and when individuals clung fiercely to their loved ones, because no one could predict what tomorrow would bring.

Book & Tag Sale

Friends of the Library Book Sale on the front lawn Saturday, September 18 from 9 am- 2 pm. Bag, box and bring your stuff to a reserved tag sale space on the library lawn for book sale patrons to browse and buy. Set-up for the Tag Sale is at 7 am through the Sylvester Street gate and clean-up is at 3:30 pm.
